On a door, used as an objet trouvé by Dominique Bachelin
A door that stands without a frame
knows neither what is in nor out
A while ago he thought he knew
of what his being was about
A guardian of the entranceway
would close or open or stay locked
Would know the meaning of the sound
if someone on his woodwork knocked
Artwork by art-student Dominique Bachelin from the Versailles School of Fine Art (École des Beaux Arts), made during a working-session of her art-class in ArToll, Bedburg-Hau, Germany under the guidance of the teachers Lorraine Verner, Herman Steins and Stephane Pichard. As the door displayed formerly was a door of a room of a mental asylum, the artist took this door to illustrate the concepts of inside and outside and how easily this can be changed, from freedom to confinement (indicated by the black stripes on one side the door). I see the matter from the perspective of the alienated door.
