A short trip to Birmingham with Annika, her friend Steffi and Christina's daddy

On Thursday morning, we took the ferry with hundreds of other tourists on board from Calais in France to Dover in England.
After one hour during that we watched the waves, the birds and the other passengers, we approached the famous white cliffs of Dover. It took us another three hours to go to Birmingham. Driving on the left side of the road ain't as easy as it seems to be =).
Christina was very happy when we arrived at her flat. She liked the flowers and the other presents :) that we offered to her.
She lives in "Sally Oak", a district which is popular with students. On the way to the university we remarked a very fancy-dressed young man who didn't take notice of us.
Even from far away, we saw the famous tower of the university - only the tower of Big Ben is higher. Christina showed us around at her "place of studies".
The university of Birmingham is a very renowned one - it's in the 98th place of the 1000th best universities of the whole world.
We admired the entry of the university where an award ceremony was to take place.
The next morning, Christina's daddy had an English breakfast.
All my readers =) are invited to translate the Latin sentence in this picture made of stone that we saw in this popular pub.
We did some sightseeing, that's clear, isn't it? The nice townhall was worth being seen.
We also visited an exposition in the museum and the most famous shopping mile, the "Bullring".
We did a short prayer in a church whose name I can't remember at the moment (Sry :) for that!) and went to some other churches. One of them was called "St. Martin in the Bullring".
In the evening we had a beer in a big pub.
On Saturday morning we took the ferry on which we noticed the photos of the captains' names back home.
(To be continued :) )
